Gorilla Trekking. This involves visiting these shy endangered Mountain Gorillas in the Jungle, early in the morning after your breakfast you will head to the park headquarters for some briefing about the Dos and Don’ts while in the presence of these apes by the park officials. After you are assigned the park ranger to lead you through the jungle while searching for these apes, but to visit these apes you must buy a gorilla tour permit which issues you permission,it costs $400 USD per person and its better you buy it in advance with your local tour operator before the dates of your trip. When you discover these apes in the Jungle you are allowed to stay in their presence only for one hour while sharing with them, taking photographs and more. These are some of the tips you should know for your successful gorilla trekking activity in Virunga.

  • When you have any signs of infectious diseases you are not allowed to go for the trekking.
  • Always keep your voice at low tone while in the jungle as you may scare these apes.
  • Do not eat in the presence of these apes.
  • Keep a distance from these apes while in their presence.
  • Do not litre rubbish in the park.
  • Always don’t use Flush cameras when taking photos.

Chimpanzee Habituation Walk. This experience is usually done in the Tongo forest where Chimpanzees are found and it usually starts in the morning where by the rangers first discover where the chimps slept in the last night. Only a group of four people are allowed per walk and it costs $100 USD per person.

This Park is also found in Democratic republic of Congo and it’s commonly known for the Lowland Gorillas as there are only found here in the all world. The only activity done here is Gorilla trekking which involves visiting these low land Gorillas in the Jungle and share with them. The Price for the permit remains the same which goes for $400 USD per person and once paid its not refundable.

  1. Mountain Nyiragongo

This is one of the active Volcanoes in the World and it’s found in the Democratic Republic of Congo, most of travelers love to go visit this Volcanoes and its hiking takes two days. When you plan for a visit to the volcano early in the morning you will start the hiking at the starting point in Kibati which costs $300 USD per person plus the Mikeno package which includes some wearing gears, food cooked while at the top and more, this package costs $80 USD per person. When hiking its advised to hire a porter to carry for you the luggages and the porter costs $24 USD per person, day one is for hiking up to the top and you will spend a night at the top to sight the night view of its burning Lava, you can take photos for memories. After your experience at the top then day two is for descending down from the top of the Volcanoes.
